James Flanagan died on the 17th of december 1992. he was born in ireland then came over to live in gorton in manchester on aylesby avenue with his wife Elizabeth Flanagan were they had 12 children together who then went on to have their own children (his grandchildren) and their is a lot of us!!! my grandad meant a lot to me including his pigeon lofts even though they smelt a bit and that the elder granchildren (lads) had to clean them out for some pocket money!!! i was the first mixed raced child to be born in the family and when my mum was pregnant with me she thought my grandad would go against her but then she realized his best friend was a man called coloured Alan. well i am just waffeling now. my grandad died peacefully at home with his family around him he had cancer but died of nueamonia. he is very sadly missed although it has been a long time since he passed he knows how much we all miss him but by me creating this for you all to read just shows it a bit better.
love you laods and loads send my love to you every day all my love leonna xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MY GRANDPA
My grandpa could never keep a frown,
and he always wore the 'Best Grandpa Ever' crown.
My grandpa could always make you laugh,
then he would hit you right in the calf.
My grandpa was a marine and was strong,
and I know he really held on.
My grandpa will forever be in our hearts,
and forever there will be that broken part.
My grandpa was a good dad, husband, and
grandfather,
even though sometimes he told me not to bother.
My grandpa will suffer no longer,
I know this is hard but it will make us all
stronger.
I will miss my grandpa for a very long time,
and I bet I know what he's thinking, for me to
stop with all the rhyme.
peom from me to you
i though of you with love today
but that is nothing new
i thought about you yesterday
and days before that too
i think of you in silence
i often speak of your name
now all i have is memories
and your picture in a frame
your memory is my keepsake
which i'll never part
god has you in his keeping
but most off all...
i have you in my HEART.
Hello there Shay! Bet you never thought you'd be listenning to me chat away again did you never mind the fact we are using t'internet!! got no getting rid of me now Shay! Well hows the craic up there?? Badger came up to be with you followed by the of all you 'Gorton Mount' dominoes aces! I can still see you now, You on one side and Grandad Badger sat on the other side of the table (Shay Brennan was another one who played too remember?) with your matches sticking out of the score thing. No matter how hard i tried i could never work the scoring out!! If i ever you or Grandad Badger why you use matches or to explain the scoring to me you would just get our Angela to take me to the shop!!! That was the only way you could a quick game in without my questions!
Well i have 2 children in the time passed by, Lydia is nearly 6 and Davey is nearly 3 in fact he's 4 weeks older than Mickey. If you and Grandad Badger seen the 2 boys together you'd be so proud! Already out with Grandad Mike and Grandad Kevin digging the roads not to mention the fact they are already running the Gorton Mount!!!! I have a picture of them both in the mount i'll upload it so you can see it.
